I got to see my baby again

Jackie stopped by today and I got to see my baby. Hard to even put into words how you could so love a child you haven't given birth too.
Poor baby had to wakie wakie to come see Grandma!! :)

LOL doesn't she look like she's trying to kick the camera??

"Oy! If only this woman would get this camera out of my face I would be a happy baby!!"

Okay, so I'm a little prejudice, but I think she's gorgeous!

It's all about ME ME ME !!!!

Okay, so we were babysitting the other day and, of course, Grandma was at the ready with the camera at every moment!! And I do mean every!!

So Jackie said Keyara needed to eat between 10:30 - 11 am and being a good Grandma, I woke the peanut up to feed her. She woke without hesitation. You think she knew what was coming??!!

Well, before we got a bottle, there was the dreaded diaper change -- not dreaded for me but for her. Keyara hates the cold diaper wipes. She voices her opionions but that doesn't make the situation change any -- we still use them. And, while Grandma was getting all the necessities in place, Grandpa was playing with the peanut! She started drifting off and he said, "Keyara, if you fall back to sleep, there will be no bottle and then your Mommie will be mad at us." And Keyara made pouty lip face and Ray just couldn't resist pooh-poohing the pouty lip!! LOL Okay, so we are weird and get enjoyment out of the little things!

I love the last pic because she looks like she's saying, "I give up Grandpa. You win!"

Oh yeah, get through the diaper change and we are on to the bottle ....

"Ahh, I'm getting a clean bottom and then on to BOTTLE!!! Yeah baby!"

Enough pictures Grandma!! Get me changed so I can have my BOTTLE!!!"

"Ahh, see that's all it takes to keep me quiet!"

"Okay, here's a goo-goo face for you Grandma. Get it while you can."

"Enough pics now Grandma. Get me my bottle or I'll make you regret having that camera!!"

"Okay, tummy's full, off to naptime."

Just like her Grandfather!

She's making the grade!

Becca brought home her report card and once again, straight A's. The legend at the bottom explains the codes. The school is divided into 2 semesters. Each semester is divided into halves (the first 9 weeks and the second 9 weeks).

Snow, Snow, Go Away, ....

Don't bother coming any other day!!

One of the reasons we moved south was to avoid snow! Three years without snow and a lot of nice weather bragging rights and this is what we wake to this morning -- SECOND snow of 2009! So much for none expected in Lumberton! And, at 4 am, there was not a flake to be seen anywhere. This was taken at 8 am and it's still flurrying.

But, let's not forget, snow scares them here. Yes, you guessed it, 2 hour delayed opening while they try to figure out if they are going to close school! If only they knew what snow was really like.

But, panning around, it does look pretty. A brief and pleasant reminder of "home".

Okay, moments over, let the melting begin!

We're expecting temperatures of 15 tonight and HOPE this is gone before then or school will be cancelled tomorrow. Thankfully, there is no moisture expected along with those temperatures so it should be an uneventful night tonight!
{fingers crossed}
** sent the above picture to WRAL TV news and it aired as part of their coverage shots of the storm last night. **

Paparazzi moment

Jackie and Keyara stopped by to pick up mail yesterday just after the UPS man delivered a jumbo box of clothes from Aunt Roni (Auntie Aunt Roni). Of course, I couldn't resist yet another photo op of my little one. Jackie wasn't going to take her out of her car seat, so Grandma started snapping away plenty of pictures.

Keyara was leaning to one side and I couldn't get a good shot so I picked up her car seat and put it on the ottoman and lifted the one side so she was now centered in the car seat. I must have woke her just a little because just 4 shots in and baby girl made a scrunchie face and then the next thing I know she has her hand in my camera trying to block the "Paparazzi" shots!!!

Of course, Grandma wasn't letting that be the final answer!! So Grandma snatched her out of the car seat to smother her in kisses and love and shortly she was right back to sleep. Then Aunt Becca wanted to hold her so I grabbed the camera again!! :)

Two pictures in and then she drops one arm and scrunches her eyebrows together and made this face that looks like she was thinking, "One more picture and I'm gonna pop that camera!" (either that or it's "Anyone touches my binky and they are going down")
And, let's not forget about those clothes Auntie Aunt Roni sent!! Inside the box was a pair of Sketchers. They're adorable but she won't be steppin' out in these for a little time yet!!

(note that her toesies don't even reach into the sneaker and she curled her toes and they stuck out the opening in the top!! LOL We knew they were way too big but couldn't resist putting them on her all the same!)

But!! When she DOES grow into them, baby girl is gonna be steppin' out in style!!

Thanks Auntie Aunt Roni!!!
