First try at a "Baby Photo Shoot"

Jackie spent the day with us Thursday and she tried to get some "shots" of the baby and the many new faces she's coming up with. Here's what we came up with!! LOL

This first two look like we are blowing her hair back, but that's the way it dried and I think it adds to some of her many faces she is doing lately.

"Is this gonna take long Mommie, I have a nap to take."

Then we put her into her new chair Grandma bought her and she didn't know what to make of all the commotion. So many toys hanging, too short of arms to reach! LOL

"Mom, help me get that red one! I like that one!!"

"Mommie, there's something moving in that orange and green one!!" (it's a mirror on the other side and she was apprehensive yet curious about this one)

"I've had enough of this now!!"

"Okay, what's on TV?"

But, I have to say, it wasn't a total loss! We managed to get a shot of her laughing and smiling. She's only just starting to get to the stage where she is recognizing people and their voices and she is responding and this was her smiling at Mommie calling her "Stanka Butt" (something to do with a song that someone sings to her or something like that). Don't really care what or why she called her that -- just happy we got Keyara to smile and managed to catch it on the camera!!

My favorite shot of all today!!

My sleepy babies!!!

While waiting for Jackie to come pick up Keyara, Aunt Becca decided she wanted to sit and play with her before she left. Well, the baby had other ideas! Keyara fell asleep almost as soon as she got into Becca's arms. Keyara must have got a little too heavy because next thing I know, Becca is moving the baby a little to her side and swinging her legs over the arm of the sofa. Then, once she got herself comfy, they were BOTH out like a light!!

Remote Control Baby

So I had Keyara overnight again last night and she woke promptly at 7 am and wanted a bottle. So, I put her in her seat and turned on cartoons while I went and got a bottle and when I came back I went to remove the remote and she got protective of it!!

So, if her Grandpa is King of the remote, does this make her Princess of the remote??!!

Grandma had her first overnighter!!

Jackie had to have surgery on her knee early in the morning and asked if we would watch Keyara overnight. Can you say, "Heck Yeah!!??!!" Wouldn't pass up that opportunity (insert very big grin here).
So, when she gets here I find out she is a little sick and has to take medicine that she doesn't really like taking and it's best to give it to her right before a bottle. Jackie also drops off this thing called a Boppy. Well, I've never heard of this thing until the baby shower and Jackie says she really likes being in it. So, Grandma sets out to do the medicine routine and BAM, she falls asleep in the thing!! Last time I saw something like this, it was given to ME to use after I gave birth to my daughters -- not for the baby! But she got in it and ZONKO -- right out! Okay, so the fact that the house was warm because it was unseasonably warm here (almost 90) and we were all feeling the effects of that wonderful weather, but Grandma was wishing SHE had a Boppy of her own!!

Oh yeah, did I mention the Binky??!! If it isn't a bottle in her mouth, it had better be the Binky!! She is not by any means a picky baby, (she's actually a wonderful baby even if she weren't my grandchild I would say that because she isn't fussy, she cries only a little bit and that is mostly because you take the bottle out to burp her and she's a good sleeper), but if you don't have a bottle or a Binky in her mouth, she will latch onto a cheek, fingertip, or her little hands (and Jackie doesn't want thumb or finger sucking).

Power to the Binky and the Boppy!!!

Last night was Rebecca's concert at the High School. We sat front and center and before the concert started, Grandpa has a chat with Keyara and tells her she's gonna be a good girl and be nice and quiet and enjoy the music and save all her comments till it's over.

"Well, fine Grandpa!! If I can't say anything, I'm going to sleep!!"
And sleep she did -- right through the whole concert!! Front and center and she slept through the whole thing!! What an angel!
